Where We’re Taking You
Pre-cruise: There’s so much to discover in Vancouver so meet us here for a pre-cruise hotel stay to get the fun started a little early. Our amenities start as soon as your plane lands and you’re met at baggage claim by an Elite Cruises staff member before being escorted to our hotel. Meet our staff and other travelers, see the amazing sights like Granville Island Market or VanDusen Botanical Gardens, and get a chance to relax before we head north to Alaska!
May 17: Welcome aboard the Koningsdam! On day 1 of our voyage we’ll get to know each other over lunch onboard before going up on deck to wave goodbye to Vancouver. After unpacking and getting settled it’s time for a night out with a group dinner followed by enjoying one of the many entertainment venues on board.
May 18: This day at sea is devoted to relaxing and there are so many spaces to do that onboard. Join us for a dip in the hydrotherapy pool at the spa or really pamper yourself with one of the specialty massages on offer. You can also take advantage of your all-inclusive package to sip tropical cocktails by the lido pool or splurge on a wine tasting.
May 19: Keep your eyes open for baby seals relaxing on ice floats as we make our way through Tracy Arm Inlet. This unspoiled gem is as pristine as can be and this day promises stunning views from everywhere on the ship. Pop up to the Crows Nest for a hot chocolate and whale watching or walk the promenade deck for 360 views of glaciers and Tongass National Forest. After lunch we’ll arrive in Juneau where travelers have their pick of excursions such as whale watching, kayaking, or meeting some sled dogs!
May 20: We’ll have a full day in Skagway and we’ll need every second of it because there is so much to see and do here! Take a ride on Yukon Route Railroad up to the summit of White Pass, step back in history by panning for gold or handing out in a gold rush era saloon, play with sled dog puppies, or splurge on a helicopter ride to walk on a glacier. This port offers something exciting for travelers of every age and mobility level so every member of your family will have the time of their life here.
May 21: Begin your day by stepping out on the bow of the ship where you’ll be met with the jaw dropping views of Glacier Bay. Warm up with one of the Dutch split pea soup cups the Holland America crew is passing out or visit the bar to get spiked coffees or mulled wines in a commemorative thermos. Then meet with park rangers for a talk about the glaciers and learn more about the National Park or change into your swimsuit for a dip in the hot tub on back of the ship! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for whales all day, there’s a chance you may even see some from the dining room windows at breakfast and dinner!
May 22: Ketchikan is as charming as Alaska gets! We can’t get enough of the colorful old buildings, totem poles, lumberjack shows, and fresh seafood everywhere (including on the salmon ladder stream running through town). If you’re going to splurge on any bucket list excursions Ketchikan is the place to do it, offering plenty of private fishing charters or even sea plane rides!
May 23: This day cruising the Inside Passage will be spent enjoying more ship amenities. We recommend checking out the views from the Crow’s Nest here and using your beverage package to treat yourself to a fancy hot chocolate or a specialty coffee. Later in the day we’ll meet at the Pinnacle Grill for a group meal where we can talk about our adventures and share pictures with each other before we have to say goodbye in the morning.
May 24: We’re back in Vancouver but the fun doesn’t have to end here. If you’re not ready to go home quite yet spend a couple extra days with us at our group hotel in Vancouver and get a second chance to explore this city.
